Do police do a PNC check when stopped?
A number of checks could be carried out but it will be up to the officer at the time and what he/she needs to know. If a check needs to be done to see if a person is disaualified from driving then yes it is done through the Police National Computer. If they need to verify an address given then this would be done through their local Electoral role system that also covers all of England, Scotland and Wales. A general all encomping check on the PNC will only show disqualifications, criminal records, wanted or Missing etc. To check against a driving licence to see if someone has one or not would also be done via PNC but would not necessarily cover Wanted etc.
