Having a hysterectomy at 23?

That is a bad idea. It sounds like when he says "hysterectomy" he means removal of ovaries and uterus too. Having your ovaries removed causes all kinds of problems that don't exist with removal of just your uterus. It's not a matter of having more kids. It's a matter of removal of ovaries means potentially serious negative health consequences. Women who go through surgical menpause before age 40 have a lifespan an average of 8 years shorter. And women whose ovaries are removed before age 42 see their mortality rate almost double. Loss of ovarian hormones affects every system in your body. Your risk of parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, dementia, osteoporosis, heart disease, ual dysfunction, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, etc. go up. You're not necessarily solving a problem by getting your ovaries removed--you're giving yourself a whole lot of new problems instead. You should see another doctor and get another opinion. Something like birth control pills may help reduce risk of more cysts, and also metformin may help.
