Is it better to fix my old car for $2K from which I will get another 60K-80K miles out of..currently has 110K?

Depends on the car you want to get. I'm kind of in a same situation as yourself. I have a 1995 Isuzu trooper that I have been repairing and fixing. I owe about 800 bucks on it. I'm going to get rid of that and going to buy a 2003-2005 Mazda6-S for about $13000-$14000. If you love your car enough to keep spending on maintenance and repairs on it, keep going. But, if it keeps irritating you to keep fixing it then start fresh.
