Hi is it worth reading Happy Potter books?

The books are a lot better than the movies - I thought the first four films were crap, but I've loved the books since I started reading them back in '98. Start with the Sorcerer's Stone - it's the first book, and it is, in my opinion, beautifully written (especially the first chapter). The books just get better and better after that.
