He knows I have feelings for him... yet still sleeps with me and doesnt commit?

Ive been seeing my FWB for 6 months now... before seeing each other we were best friends... then as always... one thing led to another and now 6 months later... we are still seeing each other / sleeping together. I was ok with the whole FWB thing in the beginning... but now... i want a relationship... and I love the guy... i mean... hes my best friend. The other night when we were drinking... he said he knew I wanted more... and then caught himself and didn't want to discuss it any further. Now... if he knows this why does he continue without committing to me knowing that theres a very good chance ill get hurt ( i cant bring myself to get away!) I don't get it!
